Main Street Unionville

Unionville Planing Mill, Main Street Unionville

This photo is of the "Unionville Planing Mill" shopping complex at 139 Main Street Unionville. Parking at the south side. The original sawmill was built in 1839 by Ira White. Wm. Eakin purchased the mill in 1854 followed by Robert Harrington in 1881. The sawmill was operated by the Harrigntons until 1960 then A. Giles used it as a planning mill until it was destroyed by fires in 1978 and 1983. The present edifice was constructed in 1987 as an up to date representation of the original building.
