This photo is of a kiosk near the Presqu'ile Lighthouse. The text reads, "A Beacon in the Night. / Originally constructed from limestone in 1840, the Presqu'ile Lighthouse was wrapped in timber and clad in cedar shingles 54 years later to prevent ongoing deterioration of the structure. / The elegant lantern capping the lighthouse remained in place until 1965. Visit the Lighthouse Interpretative Centre to see a scaled model illustrating details of this historic structure." The three photos on the kiosk are: "The Lighthouse, c1910" (Presqu'ile Park Collection), "Presqu'ile's double-curved roof was unique among Great Lake Lighthouses" (Presqu'ile Park Collection), and "The Lighthouse and Fog Station, from the bay-side, c1921" (photo text: The original view by Freeman's Drug Store) (Bud Guertin Collection).
