		Portuguese Community Monument, High Park Photo of a monument that was placed in 1978 by the Portuguese Canadian community. The 2.1m-high white granite column is topped by a cross and is desigend after the landmarks that Portuguese explorers erected when claiming new lands. The pedestal sits on top of a granite floor marked with a compass rose pointing north. The inscription reads, "XXV Anniversary of the Portuguese Community in Canada 1953 1978." Photo looking NNW.
